Menstrual Hygiene Kits & Scholastic Materials Outreach

Girls in Bwaise holding scholastic materials in front of the Obuyisi bw'Omu Initiative banner

You would think that in this day and age scholastic materials and sanitary pads would be readily available to all children going to school because they create a conducive environment for the pupils. Unfortunately this is not the case in Bwaise, even if it is located in one of the subdivisions of Kampala district, Uganda’s capital.

In 2023 we at Obuyisi bw’Omu Initiative started on a journey of providing educational support to the children in the Bwaise community through our “Flow with Dignity” campaign, where we provide scholastic materials and sanitary pads to empower the girl child, as well as providing psychosocial support to them given their backgrounds trodden with domestic violence and mental health challenges.

We do this before the start of a new term so that we ease the burden that they go through during school days.
